Alicia Cram, The Pattons, Tina & Jeff Collins, and Susan Bunting Erickson

(updated 03/01/2024). I’ve been replying to requests to have people removed from the KURW Hatewatch, and sometimes that offers an opportunity for offenders to see the collection of their activities (see below for each) and reflect on how it is perceived through other’s eyes. A review also gives me a fresh look at the criteria and correct errors. The one thing which I ask to come of this is that people who know the offenders intervene (safely & with compassion) to improve feelings and behaviors.

This Hatewatch of the southern Utah & northern Arizona region formed for two reasons: several neighbors became Insurrectionists from Kanab Area and the new trends in characteristics of those shifting toward extremism within six months was reflected on social media platforms in Kanab (see Understanding Social Media in Kanab: Groups, Pages & Individuals) and by people (see Meet Your Neighbors: Red Level)

See these KURW posts for resources: You Can EASILY Help Reduce Bigotry & Extremism in Kanab and Reforming Extremists on Hatewatch

#1 of 4: Alicia Cram (Kanab, Utah)

Works at Kanab Elementary, Quality Printing and owns Alicia Cram Photography. She is married to Kane County Sheriff Deputy Colton Cram so her father-in-law is Kanab City Police Chief Tom Cram, a red level Hatewatch neighbor who cheered “GO MAGA” to the Insurrectionists from Kanab Area. Alicia is also featured along with other business owners in KURW Business Directory of Extremism & Bigotry and Meet the Kanab Patriots: last names A,B, C

In response to her exposure on Hatewatch by KURW, Alicia claimed innocence and retaliated with lies about me, Michelle Galaria, stealing yard signs with camera footage of someone else and that we’d never met. In fact, Alicia made some of the BLM & Biden signs for rallies in Kanab and worked with me directly.

“They are saying I deserve to be on that list, but for what exactly”

“I haven’t done anything”.

In response to Hatewatch Alicia asks publicly on FB

Toggle through the 11 slides below of the categorized evidence of extremism and bigotry posted or promoted publicly by Alicia & Colton Cram.

Alicia regularly engages with the local extremist FB page “Kanab Patriots”, formerly Kanab Conservative Activism (Kanab FB Page “Kanab Patriots” Recruits and Radicalizes Extremists). She supported a post telling Californian liberals that they aren’t welcome in Kanab but Californian conservative refugees are. During the summer of social justice activism, Alicia supported posts of All Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter (Understanding Social Media in Kanab: Groups, Pages & Individuals) and reacted angry to a post of a local business with George Floyd and social justice signs in their windows. When rumors were flying about activity between the Black Lives Matter protesters and counter-protesters, Alicia took to defending Steve Corson who led the counter-protests and himself ends up at the Capitol Insurrection (see Insurrectionists from Kanab Area).

After the election, Alicia encouraged participation in the Stop-the-Steal attack on our democracy, supported a post about the riots and concern for George Floyd just stopped with the election, and promoted posts about disproven election fraud and wrote “it’s not over til it’s over”. After the Capitol Insurrection, Alicia wrote that the Capitol Insurrection was not as concerning as the 8 months of social justice riots, arson, murder and targeting groups and “you haven’t seen angry yet, we’ve had to watch you so called leftist destroy our country for 8 months”.

Also shining a light on business owners view of their liberal customers:
John Shouten of Kanab Suites and Bobbi N Jeff Lewis of Kanab Laundromat and Car Wash.

In response to being exposed, Alicia began posting false information about me, Michelle Galaria, stealing signs on local FB Groups Kanab Say it Free and Kanab/Fredonia Rant & Rave. I’ve got a good 20 pounds on that person in her photo and my butt is absolutely flat, come on people!!

#2 of 4: Patton Family: Elizabeth, Nathan, Chris & daughter (Kanab, Utah)

The Patton family moved to Kanab from Nevada and quickly joined the local extremist group Kanab Patriots and J6 Insurrectionist Stephen Corson in the 2020 Trump Cruise in Kanab. They own Patton Handyman Services and EC Guest Ready Services. See other business owners in KURW Business Directory of Extremism & Bigotry.

After seeing the Hatewatch, Elizabeth responded publicly on FB “Why??? We love all people I don’t care where you stand on politics. Your actions are what matter. My family is a melting pot of every race and I feel disgusted by her accusations. This is not who we are!” Now, the entire Patton family was on the Hatewatch and a few quick discussions with Christopher Patton on March 9, 2021, resulted in the removal of him and his daughter that same day and of Chris and Nathan in 2024 after no/little continued engagement and none sufficient enough for Hatewatch. Liz remains on Hatewatch.

Toggle through the 12 slides to see evidence for WHY Liz remains on Hatewatch for her public engagement in extremism & bigotry while Chris, Nathan & Madison are not included for insufficient content

Elizabeth regularly engages with the local extremist FB page “Kanab Patriots”, formerly Kanab Conservative Activism (Kanab FB Page “Kanab Patriots” Recruits and Radicalizes Extremists). She contributed to devolving a post about why black lives matter in a discussion minimizing slavery in the US including writing “why not, everyone else is [a victim]” and supporting a response that we can all blame our current failures on the Vikings (Understanding Social Media in Kanab: Groups, Pages & Individuals). She supported the slavery post below by Kane County Sheriff’s Office Jail Commander Dan Watson:

The Patton’s are entrepreneurs and yet she mocked the posted sale of a local business with a Trump Bye-Bye gif. She reduced the call for social justice and black lives matter to supporting posts of All Lives Matter; white, law-abiding lives matter; BLM will peter out. After the election, Elizabeth encouraged participation in the Stop-the-Steal attack on our democracy.

(added 03/02/24) Nathan Patton was removed from Hatewatch recently because there has been no new evidence of Nathan’s public engagement of extremism or bigotry. He did remain listed until recently because he did not just attend a Trump Cruise like his father and sister, who had no verifiable evidence of knowledge of the content of the signs or attendees, Nathan was present when Robert Brissette coughed on Black Lives Matter demonstrators (https://www.fox13now.com/news/local-news/trump-supporter-coughs-on-blm-protestors-in-kanab-utah), spoke with Robert afterward, claimed that demonstrators harassed him over his flags while he was at Samco, and subsequent weeks made several passes during rallies with his flags mounted on his truck. Elizabeth, his mother, contacted me about the flags and the behavior of demonstrators. She reported that he had a US Flag and a POW flag. I assured her that I would speak with demonstrators but I could not imagine them doing anything because we are all offspring of veterans or are veterans and have POW signs ourselves. No evidence exists that Nathan was harassed. His attendance of future events with Brisette knowing of that assault and the comments made, with Steve given the signs which Steve Corson displayed of extremist rhetoric, Steve’s subsequent attendance at the Capitol Insurrection (Kanab “Patriots” at the Capitol Insurrection and Local Law Enforcement Praise), is sufficient to keep Nathan on Hatewatch. Elizabeth was advised to model better behavior for her son and fails to heed that advice with increased engagement with “Kanab Patriots” extremists (Kanab FB Page “Kanab Patriots” Recruits and Radicalizes Extremists) and now Nathan’s engagement with them and Christopher’s false reporting that his whole family is on the Hatewatch weeks after I told him they were removed.

#3 of 4: Tina & Jeff Collins (Kanab, Utah)

Moved to Kane County from California relatively recent to 2020.

In response to seeing the evidence below with my explanation that the “thank a white man” post was the worst I’d seen so far (to see the worst see KANASSHOLE POSTS by Tina & Jeff Collins, Louis Pratt, David Crosby, Desiree Felish & Hunter Cram), they explain that I am misrepresenting what bigotry is by only picking out a few things out of context. That their comments and posts actually support the rights of “ALL” people being treated properly and that includes black people.

Then they defend their “thank a white man” post with this:

“The posts that you forwarded would only meet those bigotry criteria if you pull a few words from their entirety to meet your narrative. The quote that you referenced actually says “If you’re black and not a slave then thank a white man”. It doesn’t just say, “thank a white man”. So to put it in context the countries leaders at that time were white and they are the ones that voted to abolish slavery. “

When this post on Kanab/Fredonia Rant & Rave about white privilege & Black Lives Matter (left image), Tina & Jeff responded about land ownership (right image)

When the following poll about paid protesters was started on Kanab/Fredonia Rant & Rave by yoga instructor Tez Lyons following Kanab’s March for George Floyd covered by the Salt Lake Tribune

and McCabe cautioned of the distractive nature of the poll from the real issue of excessive force can happen anywhere, Tina & Jeff (right image) replied that they would acquit Derik Chauvin based on the available evidence June 10, 2020, that jumping to conclusions is reverse racism & that there is no way a racist person could get through the intrusive training for police

One month after advising to not jump to conclusions about George Floyd’s murder, Tina & Jeff question “Which Black Lives Matter”, promote the “black on black” crime myth and deflect with “I personally have seen more prejudice FROM coming black people than TOWARD them.”

Concerns & questions: mgalaria@mgalaria

I resided in the Kanab, Utah area from 2009 throughout 2020. I created KURW following the January 6, 2021 attempt by domestic extremists to stop the certification of the election which nearly a dozen Kanab area residents participated and were encouraged by the Kanab City Police Chief & fellow law enforcement. I resided most of my life in rural America and was raised in a large, far-right family. Studies show new trends in extremist characteristics, feelings of fear/anger/betrayal, an increase in social media recruitment and incitement, and radicalization as quickly as six months. Concerned residents of the area had collected evidence of public activity beginning with the six months of weekly Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter and MAGA events in Kanab. That documentation, public posts on social media, contribution from community members and outside organizations were compiled to create KURW Hatewatch because I feel like that is the best way that I can address the call for awareness to the threat of extremism.
