(Updated 02/20/22). The dismissive comment by Kane County Attorney Rob Van Dyke that was presented in the previous KURW post Kane County Commissioner Calls Kanab Patriots a Hate Group, But They Are Not the Fringe, prompted a request to review the list for the “worst for the far right in the Kanab area”. Seventy five of the 400+ on Hatewatch by KURW represent the “red level” public activists/social media users of extremism & bigotry.

Of the 400+ people listed on Hatewatch by KURW, nearly 75 stand out for their volume of public posts, content of public posts, engagement in public activism, and potential radicalization (number of followers or number followed). This is not a comprehensive list because the screening is based only on public posts & engagement, so does not include neighbors who do not engage with social media, those who keep settings to private and/or do not engage in public activism.

Of these 75, NINE (highlighted blue) have not been featured in other KURW posts, or were mentioned in older posts and needed updated. Therefore, this post has three sections:

1/4. Red Level Neighbors: The NINE ON LINE with no/little exposure

1 and 2 of 9: Jim Baker & Ryan Nielson

Jim Baker and Ryan Nielson present the most concern of the group of nine because of their persistent posts about the January 6th Capitol Riot (see slides following this paragraph). KURW exposed four of the claimed group of 11 from Kanab who went to DC January 6th (Sindi Brown Vetere, David Crosby, Stephen & Mark Corson, all listed in section 2/3).

The content of the posts from Jim Baker & Ryan Nielson raise suspicion to their participation and their demographics (US Veteran & former law enforcement) align with that of arrested seditionists. Jim’s spouse Sandy does not post much but does engage with Kanab Patriots, she was featured in the KURW Post Meet the Kanab Patriots (last names A-C). Ryan’s spouse Lauri works in healthcare and was featured for her anti-mask/anti-vax posts in the KURW Post Medical Freedom At ALL Costs: Arrest Me, Kill Me!.

3 of 9: Don Briggs

Jerri Briggs was recently featured in Meet the Kanab Patriots (last names A-C) which brought attention to her spouse Don. Don posts relentlessly but has very few followers.

4 of 9: Vaelyn Sawyer Mackelprang

Although Vaelyn no longer lives in the area, she still engages with many residents. Some of her posts were featured in Calls to Fight: Against Neighbors & Against US Government.

5 of 9: Derik and Gay Judd Brinkerhoff

Gay is included in previous posts Calls to Fight: Against Neighbors & Against US Government and Trump: The Best President Ever. This is an update to include more evidence, include Derik and comparative insight. Instead of presenting their posts, let’s look at two patterns:

1. same old cries, different president and
2. religious hypocrisy.

Derik is one of the few who provides context to the cries of the right today. For most, their posts did not start until Trump’s presidency. Derik’s posts began with Obama and show the same old cries “Gas prices, our guns, Nazi/Commies, fraud, stolen freedom & destruction”. The handful of others of the 400+ on Hatewatch by KURW who posted the same cries before Trump are

• Cole Brown (Kane County Sheriff Deputy)

Gay Brinkerhoff provides an example of hypocrisy. Some will post messages of inclusion and/or stopping division or political posts right along with the exact content they just posted against. Gay does this with LGBTQI2S bigotry by posting a religious reminder of inclusion amid her posts & supporting the bigotry of others.

6 of 9: Casey Franklin

The Franklin family of Glendale were exposed in other KURW posts, with a focus on the other members. Casey’s brother Christopher filed to run for mayor of Kanab in 2021 so was featured in Meet the Candidates: Kanab Mayor & City Council 2021. Casey’s brother Travis owns Sugar Knoll Construction so is featured in KURW Business Directory of Extremism & Bigotry. Their parents, Raleigh & Rhonda, joined the boys in posts of LGBTQI2S Bigotry and were featured as a family in Bigotry LGBTQ+ (Part Two of Three).

Casey glorifies violence (Rittenhouse, My Pillow guy killing Biden, death to Clinton, AOC), , frequently posts Michelle Obama’s gender, pending war with bloodshed & fear and anti-Black Lives Matter.

8 of 9: Susan Sanders

Susan’s daughter, Sarah Lofing, was featured in KURW post Shabby Iris Cottage Cakery: Sarah Lofing. Susan promotes violence (kill Biden & spank children), portrays USA 2021 as Nazi Germany, ridicules social/racial equity efforts, posts/supports bigotry of liberals & LGBTQI2S, end of times and anti-mask/anti-vax disinformation & divisiveness.

9 of 9: Michael Noel

Michael Noel is well known for his antics and opposition to liberals. The news media has plenty of exposure. Here, I’ll just point to four reminders:

• He uses Lydia’s account to comment in local groups and usually closes with his name. Lydia is family to Leland Pollock, Garfield County Commissioner

• Their son, Cameron, is the Sheriff of Beaver County. He has recently began interacting in local Facebook groups to argue/threaten opposition of his father’s activities. This issue was a golf course, the previous issue was a Frac Sand Plant and Noel used the courts instead of his son. Cameron owns Ranger’s Farm & Supply and his wife Sarah Jean Noel, works at Beaver Medical Clinic. Cameron was cleared of all charges in a 2014 FBI investigation into alleged choking of a suspect. He promotes “Don’t CA my Utah”, “Trump is My President 2021” and joins the Sheriff’s Association alarmism for protecting 2A and divinely inspired Constitution.

• Mike Noel mailed disinformation to sway local elections. Kanabians for Slow Sensible Growth is Jeff Schwilk’s page (also founder of Kanab Patriots, San Diegans for Secure Border, Armed Forces Tea Party, a veteran & Ammon Bundy’s PRM supporter). Their post is included only to show the letter from Mike Noel which was mailed to every resident in Kanab.

• He used our court system to obtain a civil stalking injunction against a resident for a non-violent jockeying in line at a public meeting incident (reference Frac Sand Plant in letter above). March 2021, Utah Appeals Court vacated the injunction for insufficient evidence from Kane County Court. While this appeal was in process, Judge Bagley granted another ex-parte (issued without response from accused) civil stalking injunction ( “gag order” ), to a Kanab City Council member. That complaint was for stopping allegations of abuse getting out about her husband posted in local FB groups & on her public official page by a concerned resident and known liberal activist. That complaint also attempted to link the accused to Noel’s accused and to myself through conspiracy.

2/4. Red Level Neighbors: The 16 at 89/89A Rallies 2021

After 2020 All Lives Matter, MAGA & Stop-the-Steal rallies at 89/89A and returning from Kanab at DC Capitol Riot, these 16 have ramped up activism to include booths at events, conferences at the Kanab Center, a III% float in the 4th of July parade and forming the Committee of Safety.

The organizers (The Corsons, Shawna Cox, Colleen Huston & Steve Sanders) are included in section 3/4 following this section. The participants (Teresa, Gwen, Patricia, Bobby, Austin, Loretta, Virginia, Don & Dan) are in photos in a slideshow just below. Of the participants, only Loretta Ozga was included in a previous post for Kanab Patriot’s defense of her behavior harassing the owner of Kanab Natural Market for her “I Can’t Breathe” sign following the murder of George Floyd.

3/4. Red Level Neighbors: The 65 with previous exposure

Just a little covid & socialism hypocrisy from Wessendorf & Esplin. In October 2020 they claim conspiracy, that public health safety transformed USA socialist in 4 months and that the $2400 stimulus was stolen hush money. In January 2021, Wessendorf gets Covid and his family requests financial help because he was never able to afford medical insurance.
