Meet the Kanab Patriots (last names G, H, I, J)

One hundred and seventy five (175) area residents engage with Kanab Patriots FB page promoting hate, bigotry, disinformation, personal attacks, business attacks, extremism, war cries, carry weapons against neighbors, public health disregard and defense of criminal behavior including embracing locals who went to DC January 6th to attack democracy.

This post features 22 people with last names beginning with G through J who engage with Kanab Patriots. Fifty five area residents are featured in previous KURW posts

A few of the 175+ Kanab Patriots do not meet the criteria so are not included on KURW Hatewatch with 400+ of their neighbors and are marked “Insufficient for Hatewatch” or “Not on Hatewatch”. Some of the Kanab Patriots are included in the 60+ Red Level Neighbors for their extensive hate/extremism/bigotry, including the founders USMC Veteran Jeff Schwilk and partner Ly “Tana” Kou pictured above and detailed in slideshow in section 2 of 3 below.

As always, use KURW resources for Reforming Extremists on Hatewatch and email mgalaria@protonmail.com for corrections or support.

2 of 3: Google Presentation of the Founders of Kanab Patriots

Co-founders Jeff Schwilk & Tana Kou moved to Kanab from Southern California in 2018. Jeff had some legal battles with hate groups that he founded and/or led there and already had other FB extremists pages before starting his first local page “Kanabians for Slow, Sensible Growth” then “Kanab Conservative Activism” now “Kanab Patriots.” The Southern Poverty Law Center (non-profit U.S. organization monitoring the activities of domestic hate groups and other extremists) exposed Schwilk’s activities from 2007-2018.

I resided in the Kanab, Utah area from 2009 throughout 2020. I am reformed right, 15 years now, with most family members still far-right. I lived 37 of my 48 years in rural America. I created KURW after I discovered that two people from Kanab who I knew were at the Jan 6th Capitol Insurrection and the continued threat warning from DHS regarding the far-right movement. Studies show new trends in extremist characteristics, feelings of fear/anger/betrayal, an increase in social media recruitment and incitement, and radicalization as quickly as six months. I had a lot of documentation from covering the six months of weekly Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter and MAGA events in Kanab. I used that documentation, public posts on social media, contribution from community members and outside organizations to create Hatewatch because I feel like that is the best way that I can address the call for awareness.
